Criminal Defense
Anyone charged with a criminal offense has the right to be represented
by an attorney. In fact, this right is so important that it is guaranteed
by both the State and Federal Constitution.
To prepare your defense, it is important for you to know the elements
of the offense, the legal defense that may apply, and the procedure
of the criminal justice system. This will be explained to you at
your free initial consultation.
It is unethical for a lawyer to accept a criminal case on a contingency
basis. Therefore, in most criminal cases, your lawyer will arrange
a payment schedule of a flat rate fee as long as your fees are paid
in full before the final deposition of your case. This provides
the client with the knowledge of the maximum fee prior to retaining
the lawyer.
