Divorce
Grounds for divorce may include the breakdown of marriage, adultery,
incompatibility, living apart by mutual consent for one year or
two years living separate and apart. Issues to be decided by the
court include distribution of property, alimony, child support,
and child custody and visitation rights.
Modification
Under certain circumstances, a prior order or judgment can be
changed through modification. Such modifications may include a
change in visitation, primary residence, child support, spousal
support, and parental rights and responsibilities.
Child Support
Both parents are liable for the child support of minor children.
The court may award child support from either parent, based upon
the parents' gross incomes, work related day care costs, health
insurance premiums paid for the benefit of the children and other
factors.
